Faculty Spotlight One: Twila Belk
Welcome to our “Faculty Spotlight” series, in which we feature each of our faculty members. First up: get to know our keynote!
Also known as the Gotta Tell Somebody Gal, Twila Belk is a writer and speaker who loves braggin’ on God. She enjoys laughing and promoting laughter, but even more than that, she’s passionate about helping people discover who God is and how big God is. She has lots and lots of proof of God’s faithfulness and goodness, and she just has to tell somebody!
Twila has written or co-written six books and contributed to several others. Her newest title—a one-year devotional—is Raindrops from Heaven: Gentle Reminders of God’s Power, Presence, and Purpose. BroadStreet Publishing will release her seventh book, The Power to BE: Be Still, Be Grateful, Be Strong, Be Courageous, in the summer of 2017.
Since June of 2007, Twila has worked closely with veteran author Cecil (Cec) Murphey as his executive assistant, scheduler, promoter, PR person, events coordinator, and biggest fan. (She claims to be the wind beneath his wings; however, Cec tells people she’s the hot air behind him.) Well connected through her work with Murphey, Twila frequently interacts with the media, editors, agents, publishers, conference directors, and other professionals.
Twila knows the industry, teaches at conferences across the nation, and is a former conference director and bookstore owner. She enjoys helping writers and brainstorming ideas. For more info, visit www.gottatellsomebody.com.
