The Kentucky Christian Writers Conference, a nonprofit charitable organization, is a tax-exempt organization as described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue code.
Kentucky Christian Writers Conference was originally known as Kentucky Christian Writers Seminar. Founded in 1996 by Kate Thomas and others, the conference has been held in Elizabethtown, KY, every year except one. A number of others have helped keep the conference going over the years. It is run entirely by a volunteer committee. Kate’s vision for the Kentucky Christian Writers Conference at the outset was to provide an opportunity for persons who hold in their hearts a desire to write and to receive training to do so.
After much planning and work, and with the help of Joyce Joines and Brenda Loy, the dream became a reality. The first Kentucky Christian Writers Conference was held at Memorial United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown, Kentucky in June of 1997 with sixty-one in attendance.
