Faculty Appointment Details

(Please read and then submit registration at bottom of this section).

Attendees must be formally registered and tuition received before being assigned a faculty appointment. You do NOT have to meet with a faculty member. As part of this registration you may request ONE fifteen-minute appointment. You will receive a card at the conference check-in table listing the faculty member, time and room number of your appointment.

Appointments cannot be guaranteed. Appointments with a specific faculty member cannot be guaranteed because each faculty member will have a limited number of appointments. It is possible that faculty may become ill or have emergencies requiring them to cancel appointments after the conference begins.

Attendees will be assigned faculty appointments in the following order:

  • First Priority: Early registration and payment (submitted by May 18th),

  • Second Priority: Registered and paid by June 10th,

  • Third Priority Registration and payment after June 1st and/or at the door.

Appointments with Editors are reserved for those who will bring the required writing sample to the conference. Required writing samples are:

  • Book editors—proposal with sample chapter,

  • Periodicals Editors—one article up to 1500 words or two 500-words-or-less articles

  • Devotionals Editors—two sample devotionals (250-300 words each)

Faculty other than editors will evaluate writing samples, give an oral critique of the writing, and possibly suggest markets where the writer might submit the work. They can also discuss your writing ideas with you.

Faculty will be given your e-mail address and phone numbers unless you request otherwise in writing on your registration form. The Registrar and the conference Command Center will have a copy of the master list of appointments. Each faculty member will receive a list of appointment times with names of those assigned to him or her.
